# Finish: Shell or MLO

Turn your build into one shell model or a real MLO, installed with one click.

Press **Finish** in the top bar.

## Build as Shell

The walls, floors, stairs, built-ins and lights of the whole build become **one model** with its collision and textures. Doors and furniture stay real objects, spawned by the shell resource, so doors open and furniture can be moved.

```
resources/[rtx]/rtx_shell_my_shell/
├── stream/
│   ├── rtx_shell_my_shell.ydr     one model
│   └── rtx_shell_my_shell.ytyp
├── housing/                       ready housing configs
├── client/  server/
├── fxmanifest.lua
├── config.lua
├── shell.json
└── furniture.json
```

{% hint style="success" %}
The result is a normal shell, used exactly like any other shell you would buy.
{% endhint %}

After building, the shell is **added to RTX Housing automatically** when RTX Housing is on your server.

## Build as MLO

Choose **Build as MLO** and set where it should stand: X, Y, Z and heading, or **Use my position**.

Furniture and doors go into the MLO as their own objects. Building it again with new coordinates moves it.

***

## Collections

With **Add to a collection** on (the default):

* all shells go into one resource, `rtx_custom_shells`
* all MLOs go into one resource, `rtx_custom_mlos`

Building again with the same name replaces it in the collection. Switch it off to give every shell its own resource.

***

## Install

The finished resource is written to `resources/[rtx]/` and started right away.

* Only folders made by the shell creator are ever replaced
* A name used by another resource is refused
* The previous version is backed up to `data/backups/`, the last 3 are kept

{% hint style="warning" %}
Installing and starting needs the four `resource.rtx_shellcreator` ACE lines from the [Installation](/rtxdev/rtx-shell-creator/installation.md). Without them the resource is still saved, you start it yourself.
{% endhint %}

Big shells can take a few minutes to build. The window shows the progress.

***

## Using the Shell

The shell resource needs `rtx_shellcreator_assets` on the server, because the doors come from it:

```cfg
ensure rtx_shellcreator_assets
ensure rtx_shell_my_shell
```
